GPS: God’s Plan of Salvation I n many ways, life is a journey… like a road trip. Like a trip, life has a starting point and a destination - often with many exciting stops and scenes along the way. Life’s journey has two possible destinations, a beautiful resort call heaven, or a dead end - in a place the bible calls hell. To which of these destinations is your current path leading you? We can get distracted along life’s journey and lose sight of our destination; when that happens, we get lost. In the world we live today, when we lose our way, we can turn to a map- or better yet, use a smart phone with GPS. God has given us a map to heaven - the Bible. Consider the content of this page as our GPS to you. Not a Global Positioning System, but G od’s P lan of S alvation. Proceed to the highlighted route…
Regardless of the road you’re on, the vehicle you’re in, or the driving conditions, God loves you - just as you are. ( John 3:16 )
To get on track, turn from the things of this world and turn towards Jesus. We ALL have a need for a personal Savio r. The Bible is clear that we all have a huge problem called sin. Simply put, we are all lost. ( Romans 3:23 ) Understanding this, we all need directions. So, your first two turns are to turn from sin and turn to Christ.
There are dangers ans obstacles along life’s path; avoid the main road to destruction. The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death…” ( Romans 6:23a ). In other words, the road of sin leads to eternal death and separation from God. Don’t trust your sense of direction or shady shortcuts from strangers… When it comes to sin, none of us can make it into heaven on our own.
God has given us His plan and directions to heaven. Not only has He given us directions, He has also covered all the expenses! Romans 6:23 goes on to say, “…but the gift od God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. God doesn’t punish (condemn) us for being lost. God will met you exactly where you are. God shows us His love - in that while we are lost and in sin, Christ died for us. ( Romans 5:8 ) That’s right, Jesus died for YOU .
Ever been too embarrased to ask for directions? We all have been there. To enter into heaven, you must believe that Jesus died for you (your sins). He wants to be your Savior! Jesus came to the earth as God in the flesh, lived a perfect life and voluntarily died on a cross to save YOU. He loves you that much! All you have to do is call on His name. The Bible tells us that all those who call on His name, shall be saved. ( Romans 10:13 ). You have nothing to lose and everything to gain; it’s just like stopping and asking for directions when you’re lost. Simply get directions from God by praying, “Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner…YES God, I’m lost. Please come into my life, come into my heart and save me. I acknowledge and believe you died on the cross for ME AND you rose again after three days. I accept you RIGHT NOW as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me; help me to live my life with You AND for You from this day forward. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
